Saturday's Best MLB Picks & Bets
(Odds courtesy of BetMGM)
Colorado Rockies (+310) vs. New York Mets (-400) | O/U 8.0 (-115/-105)
Let's pick it up in the Big Apple, where the Mets (35-22) are looking to build on a 4-2 series-opening victory over the Rockies (9-48). They'll turn to Kodai Senga to try and accomplish that feat, while the visitors attempt to reach the double-digit win mark by sending Antonio Senzatela to the bump. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET from Citi Field in Queens, NY.
Kodai Senga (55.2 innings) doesn't meet the innings minimum to qualify for league-wide rankings, but if he did, the right-hander's 1.46 ERA would be second-best in the league. Only Kris Bubic of Kansas City has a lower ERA (1.45). Senga has been excellent in 2025, posting a 3.13 FIP, a 0.32 HR/9 rate and an 86.3% left-on-base rate.
Senga is tasked with carving up a Colorado offense that has been abysmal this season. The Rockies are dead last in overall scoring, averaging only 3.14 runs per contest. Over the last seven days specifically, they're 26th in wOBA (.253), 29th in wRC+ (44) and 27th in ISO (.087). Senga and this Mets bullpen, which is ranked second in ERA (2.90), should excel at home this afternoon. Give me Colorado to stay under 2.5 runs.
Bet: Rockies Team Total Under 2.5 Runs (-115)
Minnesota Twins (-110) vs. Seattle Mariners (-110) | O/U 7.0 (-120/+100)
Let's head out West for my second wager, where I'm narrowing in on a total in this American League matchup between the Twins (31-25) and the Mariners (30-26). Minnesota won a wild 12-6 extra-innings game last night, and they'll opt for Bailey Ober to try and keep things rolling. Seattle will send Bryce Miller to the bump in this American League clash, which gets underway at 4:15 p.m. ET from T-Mobile Park in Seattle, WA.
I'll go ahead and take an even-money flier on the under in Seattle this afternoon. The M's will go with Miller, who's making his first start since May 11th due to an elbow injury. He hasn't been great this year with a 5.22 ERA, but he does have solid head-to-head numbers against the Twins. Minnesota's current roster is slashing just .214/.241/.429 against him over 28 at-bats.
On the other hand, Ober has been more than serviceable this season, entering the weekend with a 3.41 ERA (42nd) and a 1.33 WHIP (65th). In five May starts (25.1 innings), the right-hander has registered a 2.49 ERA. He has also found success against his opponent, as the Mariners are slashing just .191/.269/.255 against him over 47 at-bats. Finally, it's worth noting that these two offenses are both bottom-third units in both ISO (.122 or lower) and wOBA (.282 or lower) over the last seven days. Give me the under.
Bet: Under 7.0 Runs (+100)
Washington Nationals (+165) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (-200) | O/U 9.0 (-105/-115)
The MLB night concludes in the Valley of the Sun, as the Nationals (27-30) and Diamondbacks (27-30) will go toe-to-toe. Michael Soroka takes the ball for the Nationals, while the Diamondbacks counter with Brandon Pfaadt. First pitch is set for 10:10 p.m. ET from Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ.
The Nats picked up a 9-7 victory last night, and they've now scored exactly nine runs in each of their last three games. I'll take the over in this battle of potent offenses. Over the last seven days, Washington is third in ISO (.186) and 17th in wOBA (.301), while Arizona is seventh (.166) and 13th (.319) in those respective categories. Overall, this season, Snakes are averaging 5.02 runs per game (fifth), while the Curly Ws are scoring 4.44 runs per contest (11th).
As for the pitching matchup, we have a showdown between Soroka (5.61 ERA) and Pfaadt (3.90 ERA). Arizona is slashing .275/.356/.675 against Soroka over 40 at-bats, which equates to a massive 1.031 team OPS. Washington has recorded a slash line of .294/.351/.588 against Pfaadt in 34 head-to-head at-bats. Factor in that the teams are 27th (Diamondbacks, 5.51) and 28th (Nationals, 6.00) in relief ERA, and this game should be littered with scoring chances in all nine innings. I'll take the over.
Bet: Over 9.0 Runs (-105)
