WNBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (6/28)

Mystics vs. Fever WNBA Picks & Bets (Friday)

We've hit the ground running on what should be a great WNBA season and I welcome you back for more today. I'll be coming at you twice weekly – Saturdays and Mondays – to give you my best bets and hopefully provide some winners. Last year in this series we had a profitable season and I hope to do the same for you again in 2025. Of course as a reminder, I must advise to shop around for the best props and keep track of lineup news. Staying on track of news is a great way to stay ahead of the market and shopping around will help with the seasonal ROI. Anyway, let’s get to the best bets for the day.

Washington Mystics at Dallas Wings

We only have one game today and it's not the most interesting, but I can't complain. It's summer, it's basketball, and it's bet-able so that's all I need. The Mystics here are around a 2.5-point favorite in Dallas with the total of 164.5 points.

The Dallas defense was pretty awful last season, so there wasn't much of a possibility to get worse but they have improved up to 11th so far with better metrics. Still, it's 11th, not too scary. Offensively, the Mystics have struggled but they have the most significant momentum right now, off three straight impressive wins with solid outings by rookie Sonia Citron. Of course, it's a small sample size but over their last three games the Mystics have been the fifth-best team in the league, an improvement in their game this season, especially offensively.

Dallas has also had some momentum and despite starting 1-11, they have won three of their last five. Paige Bueckers is finally finding her footing and going to be a problem for opponents moving forward. Arike Ogunbowale has been consistent with 17 points per game. Essentially, I expect both offenses to perform better tonight than the current odds suggest.

Still, I simply trust this Mystics team more. They are coming off some crazy wins and one of those was beating the Wings. If I'm playing the whole season, these odds check out, but valuing the momentum factor for these two teams and the Mystics should be bigger favorites. Anyone can go off at any point and for that I'm keeping it simple. If you want to do over and Mystics then go for it but I'm simply backing Washington to cover.

Pick: Washington Mystics -2.5 (-110)
