WNBA Same Game Parlay Picks: Wednesday (5/13)

WNBA Picks & Predictions: Fever vs. Aces (Thursday)

With four WNBA games tonight, you may be thinking about how hard it is going to be to narrow down your betting options. But there is no need to narrow them down too much if they are from the same game, because you can combine them into a WNBA same-game parlay (SGP). They are riskier than if you were to just place individual wagers, but the reward is exponentially greater.

Just be careful not to get too greedy and make your SGPs too long. It only takes one wrong move to lose your wager. The following are my top WNBA SGPs from tonight's slate.

Indiana Fever vs. Los Angeles Sparks

The Fever's defense is a concern because the Sparks do have some solid offensive weapons on the roster. Still, Los Angeles looked like they couldn't get out of their own way in their season opener against the Aces. Therefore, I don't have any confidence they'll be able to keep up with the Indiana offense once it opens up. As long as the Fever don't go ice-cold from the field, they'll cover this spread.

Caitlin Clark only had seven assists in the Fever's season opener vs. Dallas, which makes the Over a sizeable leap of faith. However, we know she is capable. In 13 games played last season, she went over this number in five and had nine in another four. That was without regular, consistent playing time due to injuries. If she wasn't playing a Sparks team that allowed the Aces to record 28 assists, I'd be less confident (and the Aces averaged less than 20 per game last season).

Clark gets all the attention, but the force that powers the Fever offense is Kelsey Mitchell. She had 30 in the season opener against a questionable Dallas defense, averaged 20.2 points per game last season, and 21+ against the Sparks. As poorly as the Sparks played in their opener, Mitchell could have 21 points inside of the first three quarters.

Parlay Odds: +435 – A $100 wager will result in a $535 payday, your stake plus $435 in winnings.

Chicago Sky vs. Golden State Valkyries

I'm not impressed by Golden State holding a rebuilt Seattle team to 80 points. I am impressed by the offensive talent on the Sky roster, i.e., Skylar Diggins, Kamilla Cardoso, Rickea Jackson, etc. Don't underestimate Chicago this season. The Valkyries may slow them down, but Chicago will steal a win.

Golden State has been playing an up-tempo, efficient style of offense, which often results in a lot of points. Chicago has some solid offensive players, like Diggins, and can keep up. She averaged 15.5 points per game last season but scored 21 in Chicago's season opener. I wouldn't count on another 20+ point day, but she'll do her part to help the Sky keep up with 16+ points.

Since Janelle Salaun made four shots from deep in the opener and five against Phoenix, it is tempting to go with her "3+ or 4+ made threes" markets. However, adding this one puts the odds and potential payout at a good number. She is bound to have an off-night sooner or later, but that could mean just making two.

Parlay Odds: +510 – A $100 wager will result in a $610 payday, your stake plus $510 in winnings.
