College Baseball World Series Odds & Picks (Monday)

College Baseball World Series Odds & Picks (Monday)

There are six elimination games on today’s College Baseball World Series betting board. Interestingly enough, four of those six games feature an SEC team.

The SEC had eight regional hosts, tying a record for the College Baseball World Series. However, only Arkansas and Auburn have advanced to the Super Regionals heading into Monday. We’ll see if other SEC teams will join those two after tonight’s slate is finished.

Below, I’ve added two best bets for tonight’s games. Tap in.

Monday’s Best College Baseball World Series Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

No. 6. LSU (-1950) vs. Little Rock (+950) | O/U 14.5 (-115/-115)

Starting Pitchers:

  • LSU: Undecided
  • Little Rock: Undecided

The Little Rock Trojans shocked the baseball world with a stunning 10-4 win over the LSU Tigers in last night’s Regionals game. With that win, Little Rock has forced a full elimination game. The winner of this game will advance to the Super Regionals, while the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.

Ultimately, Little Rock manager Chris Curry told the media that it’s essentially a Championship game. He also emphasized that everybody’s good to go. With all hands on deck, it’s likely Little Rock will use a ton of different pitchers to navigate through LSU’s lineup.

Meanwhile, LSU still has pitchers Zac Cowan and Casan Evans rested and ready to go. The Tigers will likely start tonight’s game with one of those two pitchers, with the other one available if needed.

That said, LSU has been one of the best offenses this season. They’ve just struggled more over the last 10 games. They’ve added just a .297 wOBA and a .254 average with an OPS of .786. These numbers aren’t terrible, but they’re not nearly as impressive as what LSU put up throughout the season.

Despite the offense slumping a bit, the pitching has been tremendous. Look away from the 10 runs LSU allowed last night. Instead, look at the fact that the Tigers have a team ERA of 3.59 in the previous 10 games and have struck out nearly 12 batters per nine innings. The pitching has been phenomenal throughout the season. Little Rock hasn’t been.

Instead, the Trojans have allowed an 8.15 ERA over the last 10 games and have given up a 1.776 WHIP. This season, Little Rock’s bullpen has allowed a 7.20 ERA. It’s hard to imagine Little Rock adding multiple wins against the Tigers. Look for LSU to dominate throughout this game.

Pick: LSU -5.5 (-145)

Miami (+300) vs. 16. Southern Mississippi (-425) | O/U 13.0 (-115/-115)

Starting Pitchers:

  • Miami: Undecided
  • Southern Mississippi: Undecided

The Miami Hurricanes are still undecided on their starter for tonight. That said, Reese Lumpkin (4-2, 5.51 ERA) is a starter in the rotation who hasn’t been utilized in this series. In addition, the Hurricanes have Brian Walters, Carson Fischer and Will Smith as options to pitch in tonight’s game as well.

On the other hand, Southern Mississippi admitted that it’s all hands on deck. They’ll have Matt Adams (6-3, 4.22 ERA) and Kros Sivley (7-1, 4.08 ERA) available, along with Josh Och, Chandler Best and potentially even Michael Fowler. Though, like Miami, Southern Miss hasn’t decided who will pitch first.

Over the last 10 games, Southern Miss has held a 2.79 ERA with a WHIP of 1.107. They’ve also struck out 10 batters per nine innings. Additionally, the bullpen has a 1.85 ERA over the last 10 games and a 0.94 WHIP over the same span.

They’ll battle a Miami offense that has added a .283 average over the last 10 games. Miami has also hit a .296 wOBA with an OPS of .835. While these aren’t bad stats in the previous 10 games, the Southern Mississippi Eagles have smacked a .333 average with an OPS of .962 over that same span.

I like Southern Mississippi to pull out a win in this elimination game at home.

Pick: Southern Mississippi (-175)
