The brooms were not brought out yesterday with a 1-1-1 result. They tell us to not dwell on the past though, don’t “they”? So, let’s move forward with today’s props in hopes of a positive day. Here are a few props that stood out to me most at PrizePicks tonight.

Thursday's Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
This season: 56-32-4
Cristian Javier Over 5 Strikeouts
The Bronx Bombers aren’t really hitting anything these days against righties these days. Over the last two weeks, they have the 6th highest K% (26%) and 7th lowest wRC+ (86). We have seen the likes of Chase Silseth (12 K’s), Griffin Canning (10), Justin Verlander (6), Dean Kremer (7), and Tyler Glasnow (8), all go over this mark, and a couple of others have shut them out entirely: Chase Anderson, Grayson Rodriguez, and Zach Eflin.

Javier went through a rough patch but appears to be reeling it back in lately. Since the All-Star break, he has recorded 7, 5, and 9 strikeouts. He has held the Yankees roster to a .259 xwOBA and they have a 25.9% K% in 54 combined plate appearances. He should be able to shut them down again given their recent form.
Max Scherzer over 40.5 Fantasy Score
Texas made a couple of splashy moves to their rotation, and their shiny-new toy, Max Scherzer, makes his first start in a Rangers uniform today. I highly doubt he ever saw his stint with the Mets coming to an end this quickly, but here we are. Scherzer should show out tonight facing these White Sox, who were just dominated by Dane Dunning of all pitchers. He threw 7.2 innings of one-run ball with a career-high 11 strikeouts. If Dunning was able to have this sort of line, what is Mad Max going to do? Is a perfect game in the cards? Chicago has an MLB-worst 70 wRC+ over the last 30 days against righties, and Texas is around a -250 favorite to win this game. Scherzer should shine in his debut with the Rangers, grab the W, and get over this fantasy line.
Jameson Taillon Under 5.5 Strikeouts
The Cubs have put a hurtin’ on the Reds the last two games scoring 36 runs over the last two days. While I could see them doing that to Luke Weaver as well, I've got my eyes on Taillon's strikeout prop. He is under this strikeout line in 13 of his 18 starts and ranks in the bottom 14% in CSW%, 35% in xFIP, and 43% in K% among starts. Cincinnati can be a little punch-out-heavy here and there, but they held Taillon under this mark earlier this year, and I think they can once again.
