NFL Week 9 Anytime TD Scorer & Win Parlays
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins
- Leg 1: Lions Moneyline (-290)
- Leg 2: Greg Dulcich Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+295)
Let's start off our touchdown & win parlays with Miami hosting Detroit. The 5-2 Lions are riding high after beating Minnesota last week. They've now won three straight games after an up-and-down start to the season. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 1-6 after losing to the Patriots a week ago.
This may seem like a trap road game for Detroit, and a possible letdown following last week's divisional win over the Vikings. Plus, the Lions' defense still has some question marks. However, Miami doesn't have the offensive firepower to exploit those struggles. The Dolphins have also looked non-competitive against their toughest competition this year.
So, let's count on the Lions to travel into Miami and get the win. The Dolphins are allowing 25.9 points per game this season, the ninth-most in the NFL. The defense could be in trouble against a Detroit offense looking to bounce back after being held under 20 points last game. Minnesota is miles better defensively than Miami, though.
Though we're backing Detroit, let's look the other way for our touchdown pick. The Lions have been terrible against tight ends this year. They're allowing league-highs in targets (11.4), receptions (8.7), and receiving yards (97.7) per game to the position. Plus, the defense has allowed a whopping 11 touchdowns in seven games to tight ends, also a league-high.
Miami tight end Greg Dulcich hasn't found the end zone yet this season. However, in this matchup, a touchdown could be coming. Plus, Dulcich has been more involved in the offense lately. He has 4+ receptions in four of the last five games. He also has yardage outputs of 43, 86, and 55 in this stretch.
Parlay Odds: +475
Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers
- Leg 1: Panthers Moneyline (+130)
- Leg 2: Jonah Coleman Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-105)
Let's head out to Carolina for our second parlay. The Broncos are 6-2 and on a four-game winning streak after last week's big home win over Kansas City. Meanwhile, the Panthers are 3-4 after losing two straight. Denver is the slight road favorite, but there's value in backing Carolina to pull the home upset.
The Panthers should be poised to get back on track amid this mini losing streak. They return home, where they beat Detroit earlier this season. Carolina's defense is still worrisome, but Denver doesn't have the offense to take advantage.
The Broncos have been winning in large part because of their defense. The offense, though, continues to underwhelm. This should be a lower-scoring game, and the home underdog becomes more attractive in that setting. Plus, Denver could be in for a let-down after last week's emotional divisional win over the Chiefs. It doesn't help that its bye week comes up after this road matchup.
While we're taking Carolina to win, Broncos running back Jonah Coleman has a great chance at scoring. The Panthers have allowed 11 touchdowns over seven games to running backs, the second-most in the NFL. The defense has also struggled against the run, allowing the third-most rushing yards per game.
As for Coleman, he's now the guy in Denver's backfield. He went off for 104 total yards and a touchdown last week. He also led the Broncos' running backs in snap share (66%) and touches (15). Coleman has now scored in two of his three games played this season. He can easily do it again this week against Carolina's shaky run defense.
Parlay Odds: +455
