Wednesday's Best MLB Picks & Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

    Toronto Blue Jays (-151) at Chicago White Sox (+124) | O/U 8.5 (-105/-115)

The Toronto Blue Jays entered yesterday amid their first winning streak of nine-plus games since August 2015, which was two shy of the franchise record (done four times, twice in 2015). Their winning streak enabled them to build a 3.5-game lead in the AL East, their largest division lead since the end of 2015.

The Blue Jays have gone an MLB-best 27-10 since May 28, led by an offense that averaged 6.7 runs per game, batted .378 with runners in scoring position, hit 16 home runs, and had a team OPS of .817 during the nine-game streak. The offense has been spearheaded by Addison Barger, who went 10-for-31 with four home runs and 12 RBIs during the winning streak, and George Springer, who won American League Player of the Week with a .429 average, five home runs, and 13 RBIs last week (he led the Majors in RBI and tied for the MLB lead in total bases).

This line is slightly under inflated since the White Sox are throwing their best pitcher of late, Adrian Houser. However, not much has cooled off the Blue Jays lately, and I will continue to back them until they give me a reason not to.

    Pick: Blue Jays Moneyline (-151)

    Seattle Mariners (+123) at New York Yankees (-150) | O/U 9.5 (-112/-108)

Cody Bellinger entered yesterday's series opener amid a 12-game hitting streak, while batting .365 with eight extra-base hits and nine RBI over that span. Additionally, his on-base and power numbers have been elite over a much longer time frame, as he had an .894 OPS across the previous 50 games.

Mariners righty Logan Evans has allowed a .330 OBA in four road starts. Thus, Bellinger could just as easily cash this player prop with a multi-hit day (he has eight such games in the last 17) as he could with another extra-base hit.

Pick: Cody Bellinger Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)

    Colorado Rockies (+243) at Boston Red Sox (-309) | O/U 9.0 (-112/-109)

Ceddanne Rafaela gets another crack at one of the league’s worst pitching staffs, which should help him continue to build on some impressive numbers. Rafaela now has a six-game extra-base hitting streak and home runs in three of the last four. In the last 17 games, he has clubbed six home runs and hit 10 doubles. Now so far this year he has 12 home runs in 87 games after belting 15 in 152 games last season.

Rafaela should have plenty of RBI chances when facing Rockies righty Antonio Senzatela, who has a 6.32 road ERA and allows a .380 OBA away from Coors Field. Opponents have averaged more than six runs per game through his last 11 starts, so we are getting great value on Rafaela to drive in a run for the seventh time in the last 10 games.

Pick: Ceddanne Rafaela Over 0.5 RBIs (+145)
