Paige Bueckers Over 17.5 Points (-110) WNBA Player Props
Maybe this will be the night that the Liberty slows down Paige Bueckers, but based on what she's done against them this season, taking her to hit this over is the right play. On Tuesday, she scored 21 points against the Liberty. The performance came a little over a week after she dropped 20 against them at the end of July. That's two 20-point games against the Liberty within the last two weeks, so why shouldn't we back her to have success again tonight?
Bueckers is averaging 18.6 points per game, and she has scored at least 20 in four consecutive contests. She's only scored fewer than 17 points in one of her last nine games. That's an incredible run for a player who has found her way as a scorer in this league. And while the Liberty have the second-best record in the league, their defense ranks just seventh in points allowed per game. To get this number below Bueckers' season average for a standard price makes it one of the best plays of the day.
A'ja Wilson Over 10.5 Rebounds (+116) WNBA Player Props
A’ja Wilson hasn't faced the Storm since June 20th, but in that game, she pulled down 14 rebounds. It was one of her best performances of the season, and easily her best rebounding performance against the Storm this year, as she pulled down just 12 boards in her first two games against the Storm combined.
While Wilson is in a bit of a slump, this is a great matchup, even if she's only taken advantage of it once. The Storm are allowing the third-most rebounds per game this season (35.9). Wilson is averaging 9.1 rebounds per game, so she'll need to top her average by nearly two full rebounds to hit this over. But the price accounts for that. Wilson has 10 or fewer rebounds in six of her last seven games, but things aren't as bad as they seem. Wilson has at least 10 rebounds in four of her eight games since the All-Star break; she's just struggled to get to 11. For this price, in this matchup, I'll take the risk.
Sonia Citron Under 13.5 Points (-114) WNBA Player Props
Sonia Citron has struggled against the Lynx this season. She has yet to score in double figures against them, and in the first meeting, she shot just 23.1% from the floor. All that said, Citron enters tonight hot. She has scored at least 13 points in five consecutive games, scoring at least 16 in three out of her last four games. Just last week, she dropped 28 points against the Chicago Sky, a team much worse than the Lynx, but the performance was impressive nonetheless.
Yet, despite how well she's been playing, this has been a terrible matchup for Citron. Considering she's shot 42.9% or worse in her last three games, I fear she will struggle against the second-best shooting defense in the league. The Lynx are also giving up just 75.8 points per game, which is 2.6 fewer than the team allowing the next lowest amount. While there’s still plenty of room for scoring for the Mystics, Citron is unlikely to be the beneficiary, even if she is averaging 14.3 points per game this season.
