Saturday’s Best 2026 World Cup Picks & Predictions: Qatar vs. Switzerland
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Qatar (+1300) vs. Switzerland (-500) | Draw (+550) | O/U 2.5 (-144/+118)
Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup but suffered losses in all three Group A matches. It was outscored 7-1, losing 2-0 to Ecuador, 3-1 to Senegal and 2-0 to the Netherlands.
It will be an uphill battle for The Maroons, who are making just their second-ever World Cup appearance. They were the first team eliminated from the 2022 World Cup, thereby becoming the worst-performing host nation.
Switzerland is a tried-and-true European club, and it meets Qatar for the first time ever in a competitive match. The Swiss are making their 13th World Cup appearance, and they’ve advanced to the Round of 16 in each of the past three events. It played to a 1-1 draw with Australia in its final tune-up match, and that came on the heels of a 4-1 victory over Jordan near the end of May.
Granit Xhaka is back, while Manuel Akanji, Zeki Amdouni, Breel Embolo and Remo Freuler are all names to watch. This one shouldn’t be close. The Qataris aren’t likely to score, but the Swiss have enough firepower to win by at least three goals. Let’s go over on the total, but let’s take it easy.
Picks: Switzerland -1.5 (-172), Over 2.5 Goals (-144) & No - Both to Score (-215)
