Donovan Mitchell Over 29.5 Points (-114)
Donovan Mitchell has scored 30+ points in back-to-back games heading into tonight’s matchup against the Pelicans. Mitchell has a usage rate above 35% over the last 10 games and has attempted almost 24 shots per game during that stretch. He’s also shot 48.2%, which is pretty good, given that he’s taken about 11 three-point attempts per game over the last 10 games.
Tonight, Mitchell takes on a Pelicans defense ranked dead last in points allowed to shooting guards. They’re also dead last in three-point field goal rate and three-point attempts by shooting guards this season. Mitchell should continue to see a high volume of shots. Only this time, he’ll get some even better looks from the field against a Pelicans team that struggles badly against shooting guards this season.
Kyshawn George Over 5.5 Assists (-132)
Kyshawn George is a box score stuffer. The young forward has recorded at least seven assists in four straight games. He’s also added at least seven assists in five of his last six games. In fact, he’s averaged nearly 10 potential assists per game over the past 10 games and has played close to 33 minutes per night during that time.
Meanwhile, George is set to face a Hornets team ranked 27th in assists allowed to shooting guards this season. George has become a legitimate playmaker with the Wizards this season. But over the last six games, he’s really started to come on.
Ultimately, George is getting assists at a high rate when he’s got potential assists lined up. He’s making excellent passes and setting up his teammates very well. That won’t change against the Hornets.
Scottie Barnes Over 8.5 Rebounds (-122)
Scottie Barnes has achieved at least nine rebounds in three of his last four games. He only added six rebounds against the Nets last time out. However, he still had 12 rebound chances in that game. Typically, Barnes has averaged about 14 rebound chances per game. Tonight, I’d even expect more rebound chances.
Barnes is facing a Miami team ranked 28th in total rebounds allowed to power forwards. The Heat also ranks 28th in defensive rebounds allowed to power forwards this season.
In his last six games against the Heat, Barnes has averaged nearly nine rebounds and has hit this line in four of those six games. He’s had just 12.3 rebound chances per game against the Heat during that stretch. With likely more rebound chances in tonight’s game, taking the over is the move.
